The problem we are burdened and called to solve

The vast majority of people in our 21st Century world are living what we call the Breathless Condition — spiritually disoriented, disconnected from any coherent story of who they are, why they are here, and how to live well. Sadly, too much of the big "C" Church is distracted and misguided, and with all the activity, we have largely offered a transaction that forgives but does not transform, that saves but does not form, that offers life eternal after death but suffers to provide much teaching and guidance on how to truly flourish now while we are still alive. For us, that's not a critique of the bride of Christ, it is a calling to bring her to her destined beauty.

What we know to be the answer

We think the solution of a life well lived where you can breathe again is in one source — the person and work of Jesus of Nazareth. He is the most intelligent person who ever walked the earth and He is the one great truth as the source of knowledge on how to live a good life as a good person in what is most real, the real matters in life that really matter.

Jesus…simply Jesus.

Jesus College exists because people do not simply need more information about Christianity. We need transformation into a way of life that is life — an ecology of the Kingdom of God in Jesus Christ — that is coherent, embodied, and reproducible. Real and relevant, transcending all cultures but applicable in any culture. We've witnessed that with students in over 60 countries. 

We gather together as His students to learn from Him how to live the life He so beautifully lived and describes. And we believe our framework awakened by the "4M IQ" compass through "The Four Woods" of the Kingdom guided by the spiritual landmarks will lead you with Jesus and His circle of friends on the Emmaus path.

The Mission of  JESUS COLLEGE

Jesus College cultivates communities of followers of Jesus who rediscover the present Kingdom of God and live as apprentices of King Jesus.

The Vision of JESUS COLLEGE

A world where people find their way home to reign with Christ forever by rediscovering the Kingdom of God to see the Kingdom clearly, breathe the Kingdom deeply, and follow the King closely.

The JESUS COLLEGE Framework

Jesus College has developed a united and layered framework integrating three interlocking tools that move from diagnosis to vision to formation: 

1. "The 4M IQ" compass — Diagnosis by answering life's "Four Most Important Questions"
2. "The Four Woods" — Vision as invited by Jesus into formation of his life through the Yoke, Cross, Branch & Throne

3. The Lost Kingdom — Find Your Way Home         The Map (a book in progress)

Jesus of Nazareth, Chancellor

As the founder of Jesus College, Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

His self description is, "I am gentle and humble in heart" with an unwavering, sacrificial purpose, "That the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me."

As the most intelligent person to ever walk the Earth, it is only fitting to have Him as the Master Teacher, head of a school in His way of life, and of course, to name the school after Him. (Much to our surprise, there was not a Jesus College in all of the Americas when we started, and only two, both in the British university systems - Oxford and Cambridge - started in the early 16th century, and their vision and curriculum are different.)

Since responding to an undeniable call to start Jesus College in 2014, Doug serves as Vice Chancellor of Jesus College under the authority and leadership of Jesus College Chancellor, Jesus, and the accountability of the Board of Directors. He knows the incredible joy and privilege of interacting with apprentices of Jesus from over 60 countries with Jesus College, an amazing highlight in his 48 year collaborative Kingdom work with Jesus that also includes local church pastor, church planter, non-profit director, youth worker, even "Living Life TV" talk show host.​

Doug brings with his passion as a student of Jesus and a steward of Jesus College a Bachelor’s in Christian Education/Youth Ministry from Vanguard University, a Master of Divinity from Fuller Seminary and PhD. classes in Pulpit Communications from Trinity Bible College & Seminary.
